  • http://mathtrain.tv/  This is a site of videos made by students to teach maths concepts – Kahn Academy but by students.

There is an app for it as the site is not iPad friendly.

  • http://jmathpage.com/  Lots of great activities etc.  Middle school link good for upper maths

  • Here is a link to a site for students to practise number knowledge/basic facts. It is designed with the NZ stages in mind and can be done as a sheet or as a timed activity, so could work well as a warm up, homework or as part of your rotations. http://www.prototec.co.nz/maths.html

Lower Maths links from Faye:

  • Are you taking lower maths next year? The chances of you having Julia are high so I am going to send some random websites that you may want to use. Faye  http://www.snappymaths.com/

  • I have been looking for some great NZ based interactive resources for Level 1 and 2.This is pretty amazing – It is found on the nzmaths website.Register yourself (it’s free) and have a look.  Great for stduents who are at level 1/2/3 and if you have your teacher aide working with a group it is fantastic support material for them. The website “speaks” the words to the students so if they have trouble reading it does it for them.  Also a great resource to use for students who need to practice skills.  e-ako.nzmaths.co.nz/

  • Check out this link it has free downloadable books for Year 1 and 2 maths work forJulia. She hasn't done this stuff before and if it's downloadable I wonder if we download onto her device?   http://www.mathscentre.co.nz/Topics/Mighty%20Maths/B/
